A unique story. Universal applications.

I Am That Voice

Born at the foot of the Himalayan mountains, adopted as a toddler from an orphanage in Pakistan into a Dutch diplomat’s family, hers was one of the first cross-cultural adoptions in the late 1960s.

A story of

inspiration

Gabriella van Rij’s adoption should have been a rags-to-riches fairy tale—instead, it turned into a headlong journey through racism and isolation, and sparked a search for belonging that continued throughout the first half of her life. With a brave and honest voice, Gabriella writes as she speaks, touching on the social issues that plague our society and providing practical solutions for those who are facing discrimination or who feel isolated due to their circumstances. With a stark, honest tone, and the same signature humor she brings to the stage, Gabriella inspires readers to shatter their worlds with kindness. #DareToBeKind

With All My Might
It’s okay not to belong.

Author Gabriella van Rij was a half-hour guest on my television program, Conversations With Gloria Greer. Gabriella was one of the most interesting and articulate guests that I have interviewed. (And my guests have ranged from Benjamin Netanyahu to the late Betty Ford.) Gabriella’s book With All My Might is an example of how a person can succeed in life with intelligence, determination, and pride despite obstacles. Her story is fascinating and so is she.

I Can Find My Might
A little girl’s fight to be herself.

I just finished reading Gabriella’s book, I Can Find My Might. It is a must-read for anyone who works with children. Gabriella gets to the heart of how a child really feels when they are bullied and made to think they don’t fit in anywhere. It then goes a step further to show us how bullies tend to get caught up in circumstances beyond their control. As an educator for 38 years, it has helped me to know that I need to help each child find their Might. This book needs to be placed in school libraries around the world.

Watch Your Delivery
You're doing it wrong. Here's why.

“Gabriella’s new book Watch Your Delivery creates a space where it’s safe for me to gain emotional intelligence. It’s so hard to own up to my faults, but Gabriella uses humor to help me feel like we are all connected, and I shouldn’t be ashamed. I can just focus on becoming a better person. I highly recommend this book!”
